This week in Math: 2.OA.4 Use addition to find the total number of objects arranged in rectangular arrays with up to 5 rows and up to 5 columns; write an equation to express the total as a sum of equal addends. 2.NBT.2 Count within 1000; skip-count by 5s, 10s, and 100s. 2.NBT.3 Read and write numbers to 1000 using base-ten numerals, number names, and expanded form. This week in Science: Life Cycle of a Pumpkin-How a pumpkin grows from a seed. Homework Notes and Reminders! The students will complete one ELA activity (Family Times), one reading log entry, and one math activity each evening Monday through Thursday. Homework should be turned in the next day in the Blue Homework folder with the exception of the Reading Log which should be turned in on Friday.

This week we will complete our All About Me posters and share them with the class! The students are having a fun time getting to know each other as classmates this year. So far we have practiced Read to Self and Partner Read. This week we will add Work on Writing and Word Work to our practiced rotations. Your child has been assigned a new RA-Z Kids login and password. You are encouraged to allow them to read with this program at home. These books/stories can be used for completing their nightly reading log if you choose. We have begun math rotations during our math block. This week, our rotations and activities will focus on Number Sense and Place Value. Thank you for signing and returning the forms that were sent home. Homework Notes and Reminders!
